Abstract

This research aims to reveal the significance of symbolic and expressive trends in the digital printmaking of several contemporary visual artists through semiological analysis. It explores the relationship between symbolism, expressionism, and meaning in selected digital prints, examining how these artists utilize symbols and visual elements. Furthermore, it highlights the importance of symbolism and expressionism in digital printmaking and the artistic possibilities that digital printing techniques offer artists in expressing their creative and innovative ideas. The study employs a descriptive-analytical approach from a semiological perspective to describe and analyze a selection of contemporary visual artists' digital prints. The goal is to uncover how symbolic and expressive meanings are employed in constructing artworks, leading to aesthetic and technical insights that enrich the field of contemporary digital printmaking. The semiological analysis reveals that symbolic and expressive meanings in digital printmaking play a significant role in conveying the meanings that artists wish to express and contribute to understanding how symbols and visual signs function in digital artworks. It is worth noting the great diversity in the styles and techniques used by contemporary visual artists in their digital printing works, reflecting the tremendous development in this field.
